Mission accomplished! Kids 4 Hydrogen team members Zohar Wouk, Michael Beck, and Susan Tatsui-D’Arcy flew to Dallas last week to meet with Wikispeed CEO, Joe Justice, at the Agile 2012 conference. After listening to Joe’s inspirational speech, the students gave high fives with the Wikispeed Team.
Zohar steered the Wikispeed (100-mile per gallon) car
through the hotel lobby and down the kitchen corridor to the trailer. The Kids 4 Hydrogen team helped disassemble the carbon-fiber frame from the modular car and helped load the cars into the trailers.
Over dinner at a Texas BBQ Steakhouse with the Wikispeed Team, Michael and Zohar shared their ideas and enthusiasm about building a modular fuel cell car at Merit Academy. The Kids 4 Hydrogen team plans to visit their shop in Seattle, WA in October to learn more about the engineering and construction of the car. Future plans tentatively include getting a Wikispeed kit and building a hydrogen fuel cell motor in Santa Cruz.
