The Kids 4 Hydrogen team met Raymond Lee, Mercedes R&D, at the Emeryville H2 Station twice on the northern California tour. They learned how to pump H2 into the F-Cell and watched a fleet of H2 and CNG buses come and go.
Heads were turning as the team drove the F-Cell over the Golden Gate Bridge, down Lombard Street, along the Embarcadero to the Exploratorium, Pier 39, and Fisherman’s Wharf. They even stopped by Ghirardelli Square where they met German tourists who appreciated their efforts in “catching up” to German advances with fuel…
The team enjoyed talking to well-educated policymakers. They discussed political issues about oil companies and fracking for natural gas (CNG) at the Capitol Building. They even sat in on a Calif Air Resources Board meeting at the EPA building!
Team members enjoyed the day back in Santa Cruz and Los Altos where they slept, rested and rejuvenated.
